Projects

Project description:

Project planning, manufacture and installation of top-mounted boxes designed to accommodate flower boxes and increase anti-fall protection.

Scope:
65 balconies of a residential building in Laatzen near Hannover.

Challenge:
Uniform appearance of the building, irrespective of the type and colour of flower box used.

Requirements:
Corrosion-resistant, conveniently priced, in harmony with the building, colour to RAL as desired, handrail made of ground stainless steel, accommodation of commercial plastic flower boxes.
Drainage towards the inside, fastened to concrete and insulation material.

Solution:
In close co-operation with the architect in charge, a sectional aluminium box was developed which, along with the stainless steel handrail, was designed to meet the above requirements.

Some of the benefits of this solution are: raw material less expensive than stainless steel, convenient manufacture of components, powder coating to RAL specifications.

After a specially manufactured sample had been accepted by the condominium owners, manufacture of the boxes was started at the facilities of Henjes Metall- und Anlagenbau GmbH.

After completion of concrete restoration work performed on the building at the time, our boxes were fitted to all balconies.

Even before the scaffolding had been removed, some tenants already placed their planted flower boxes into the new top-mounted boxes.
All parties involved - client, architect, owners - were highly satisfied with the design and appearance of the boxes.
As reconstruction work has recently been started on the adjacent buildings in the block, Henjes has received a follow-up order for top-mounted boxes to be fitted to the balconies of these buildings.
