The numerical simulation of
solution mining processes requires the specification of
depth-dependent data for the mineral com- position and the
dissolution rates of the rock salt. Together with the
interpretation of well logs, which provide a vertical
distribution of the insoluble fraction, it is possible to
calculate the depth dependent dissolution rate of the salt.
